Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains
A super young Diane Lane stars in this feminist punk cult fave as Corinne “Third Degree” Burns, an orphaned teenage girl who works a fast food slog to support her younger sister. When interviewed on local TV about her town’s lack of industry, she grows increasingly angry about the line of questioning, striking a chord among other local teenagers who feel they’re getting the shitty end of a shitty system. Corinne starts a band with her sister Tracy (Marin Kanter) and cousin Jessica (Laura Dern!!) called The Fabulous Stains and they hit the road on tour with washed-up hair band Metal Corpses and a young all-male punk band called The Looters. On tour, they reveal a new punk aesthetic and strive to be heard against the misogyny running rampant – garnering fans all over America as well as an opportunity to hit the big time.
