Overview

The ultimate Swinging London film, Michelangelo Antonioni's Blow-Up stars David Hemmings as alienated fashion photographer Thomas, who cavorts from one wild shoot to the next. Snapping everyone from Veruschka to Vanessa Redgrave to Jane Birkin, his hedonistic routine is suddenly interrupted when a series of casual pictures in the park point to the capture of a murder. Consumed by an obsessive need to uncover the truth, he finds himself caught in the throes of a devious plot – all set to a Herbie Hancock soundtrack.

Why See This Film

Wild, mod and shockingly – for its time – nude, this is the film that brought the arthouse to the mainstream. Now digitally restored in eye-popping hues, this English language debut from Italian auteur Antonioni is a must-see on our glorious Golden Screen.
