Overview

Manhunter sees Michael Mann take on Thomas Harris’ best-selling Red Dragon novel in a sinewy serial killer tale for the ages. After catching notorious killer Dr. Hannibal Lecktor (Brian Cox), FBI agent Will Graham (William Petersen) now enjoys peaceful early retirement by the beach in Florida with his partner Molly (Kim Greist). But there’s a new murderer on the loose, and the FBI need Will’s help on the case. Reluctantly signing up to the task, Will delves deep into the bone-chilling details of the ‘Tooth Fairy’ killer’s string of slayings. With the imprisoned Dr. Lecktor lending ‘expert’ advice to help comprehend the inner workings of a murderous mind, Will closes in on his terrifying target.

Why See This Film

Love serial killer films like Zodiac, Memories of Murder and The Silence of the Lambs? Fan of other Michael Mann movies like Heat? Manhunter satisfies a double fix of murder mystery and stylish thriller, and if you ask us, it’s highly underrated. Awash in Mann’s trademark moody blues and full of gorgeously symmetrical compositions, it’s ‘80s movie heaven.
