+ a glass of prosecco with each ticket
The world premiere stage adaptation of Dr. Strangelove by director Sean Foley and writer Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It) updates Stanley Kubrick’s masterful Cold War satire with seven-time BAFTA Award-winner Steve Coogan in not one but four roles. For those unfamiliar with 1964’s How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, this explosive comedy loosely based on the novel Red Alert by Peter George follows the hilarious bureaucratic war room chaos surrounding a rogue U.S general who triggers a nuclear attack.
"A masterful recreation of sublime comic acting"
"Steve Coogan displays boundless energy and impeccable comic timing"
"Coogan scores a quadruple Cold War coup"
With big shoes to fill following Peter Sellers’ legendary performances in Kubrick’s original, Steve Coogan shines distinctly, bringing a tremendous energy to all four of his roles in this fresh, faithful and very funny stage adaptation straight from London’s West End, recorded live at the Noël Coward Theatre. The leap from screen to stage feels natural, creatively taking full advantage of projections and astonishingly fast resets, keeping pace with the original and maintaining great comedic timing.
This screening includes a 15-minute intermission.
Please note: All tickets are $35, and include a glass of prosecco on arrival. Gift Passes & Golden Age Film Club Membership discounts cannot be used for this special event. All attendees must be 18 or over.
