When a demon takes possession of her, high-school cheerleader Jennifer (Megan Fox) turns a hungry eye on guys who never stood a chance with her before. While Jennifer satisfies her appetite for human flesh with the school's male population, her nerdy friend, Needy (Amanda Seyfried), learns what's happening and vows to put an end to the carnage. Written by Diablo Cody (Juno) and directed by Karyn Kusama, Jennifer’s Body is an underrated feminist horror classic, with cameos from Adam Brody, J.K. Simmons and Amy Sedaris.
Criminally misunderstood and underseen at the time of release, Jennifer’s Body has since been reappraised as a cult classic, with legions of fans and a large queer following. Karyn Kusama (Destroyer, The Invitation) is one of our favourite genre filmmakers in the business, and this is one of her funniest, most clever and delightfully subversive films. If you’ve ever doubted Megan Fox’s acting abilities or comedic prowess, this film will make you take a second look.
